DISCIPLESHIP

A journey for those who are new to Redeemer.

Every believer is called to discipleship. Discipleship is a lifelong journey rooted in a deepening trust in Jesus everyday, visibly transformed lives as we grow more like Him, and actively living out His mission as we participate in God’s redemptive work.

TRUST JESUS

We want to see people come into relationship with Jesus. The core component of coming into a relationship with Jesus is trusting him with your entire life. This is the entryway into any discipleship journey and into ours. We must know, seek after and pursue helping people to trust Jesus in every area of their lives.

Opportunities for discipleship:

Welcome Meal – Join us for a welcoming meal where you have the chance to meet some people, hear a bit of Redeemer’s story and explore the courses that can shape your next steps

Exploring Faith – Explains the good news of Jesus to know Him and have a firm foundation for life.

Exploring Baptism – Looking at what the Bible says about baptism and what it means for each believer to take this step.

New to Redeemer – A great opportunity to hear about Redeemer’s beliefs, purpose & mission, and how you can play your part.

BECOME LIKE JESUS

Becoming like Jesus means that, well, we begin to become like him! As we’ve trusted in him, from the inside out, we slowly become more like him. It means that we love what Jesus loves and step away from what Jesus steps away from.

Becoming Like Jesus is a re-learning of who we are in Christ and un-learning of all the unhelpful things we’ve picked up from our time in this world. The goal is Christ-likeness. And the way we become like Jesus, is through spending time with him, spending time with his church and growing to love and believe what’s revealed in God’s word.

Opportunities for discipleship:

Walking God’s Way – Teaches how to walk with God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, as well as with each other in the church.

Connect Groups – A small group of 8-12 people who form close community.

DO WHAT JESUS DID

Doing What Jesus Did is being obedient to Jesus’ great commission, in the fullest sense. All believers are to be part of ushering in the Kingdom of God by being like Jesus and doing what he did. Inherently, doing what Jesus did is about moving out and into the world intentionally to be like Jesus to others, in how we love and share the hope of Jesus.
